Hi, the following is a list of items for any camp out. After the first list will be a second list with items that will be needed for then next campout if there are special requirements. Also a list of prohibited items follows.
- Cloths for correct number of days.
- Any medications. Let the adult leader know if you have medications.
- Rain gear.
- Back pack or bag. (This can be any back pack does not have to be a hiking pack as we do not hike often. Old school backpacks work well) If anyone needs a bag or pack to use please ask. Please do not use disposable bags as they do not hold up to being tosted around.
- Bug spray.
- Sun screen
- Sleeping gear. Sleeping bag, or blankets. May include sleeping pad or air mattress. Please avoid cots as they sometimes cut the floors of our tents also the air mattress needs to be around the size of a pool float as we need to fit two boys into a tent.
- Proper cloths for the weather.
- Extra socks and shoes if possible
- Red Troop shirt if you have one. If you do not have one they are $8 if you want one, I have a limited number left in different sizes but they are limited we can order more if the need arises.
- Scout Hand book
- Shower gear.
- Tooth brush, tooth paste
- Wash cloth
- towel
- soap
- aintipersperatnt/deoderant
Next campout.
Remember Weather can changes quickly in our area so make sure to bring cloths for any type weather we may have. Prohibited items.
- FOOD!!!! Do not bring food unless it is to share with the troop. Keeping food in the tents bring many problems including critters who want the food you bring. Ratcoons and other animals may tear up tents and people to get to food. This does not stop with the person who has the food often traces of the food are left for the next group that use the tent. On one campout we had a bad problem with 2 tents because they had sugar and other things still sprinkled in the tent that I assume was from doughnuts or something from a previous campout and so the tents were swarmed by ants.
- Gameboys PSP's MP3 players if we take a long trip these are acceptable but on short trips we ask they not be brought. If they are brought once we get to the camping sight they are to be left in the cars.
- Radios are acceptiable but are to be used at troop officers and leaders discretion.
